Privacy

Short version: we collect what you type into the form, we use it to put your farm on the site and to talk to you about it, and we do not sell it to anybody.

What we collect

If you submit a listing, we get your farm name, your name if you give it, your town and province, your email, your phone if you give it, your website and socials, what you sell, how people can buy from you, and the photos you upload.

If you email us, we keep the email so we can answer it and remember what was agreed. That is all. There is no account, no password, and no profile.

What goes public

Your listing does. That is the point of it. The one thing we hold back is the email address you give us for contact, which never appears on the site. If you want an email shown, there is a separate field for that, and only that one gets published.

Photos

Photos you upload get shown on your listing. When you submit them you are telling us they are yours to share. Every uploaded image is resaved by our server before we keep it, which strips out anything hidden in the file, including the GPS location some phones write into photos.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies and runs no advertising trackers. There is no Facebook pixel, no Google Analytics, and nothing following you to other sites.

Two things are worth knowing anyway. The map page loads its tiles from OpenStreetMap, so OpenStreetMap sees your IP address when you look at the map, the same as any website you visit. And our web host keeps normal server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.

Where it lives

The site is hosted in Canada with Web Hosting Canada. Listing details sit in the site's own files. Emails sit in an ordinary email inbox.

Your say

Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) gives you the right to see what we hold about you, fix it if it is wrong, and ask us to delete it. We would honour all three anyway. Email hello@buycanadianhoney.ca and say what you want done.

Removal means removal. Your listing comes off the site, and we delete the submission and the photos.

Changes

If this changes, the date at the top changes with it. We will not quietly start collecting more than we do now.
